We believe that the purpose of education is to challenge our students to develop to their fullest intellectual, social, emotional and physical potential . We recognize that as abilities and goals vary, so must the instructional program of the individual. We insist that the learning climate should be enjoyable, active and dynamic as well as being demanding.

Student centered-learning means reversing the traditional teacher-centered instruction and putting students at the center of the learning process. This can be achieved in many ways:

Limit the time students spend focusing on the teacher: Students are given more opportunity to ask questions and take part in meaningful discussions with each other.

Rotating station activities: activities are allocated to areas around the room, small groups move from one station to the next to explore different concepts; this means that all students are active participants in their learning.

Learning through play: students are given the time, space and resources to explore different concepts and make discoveries by themselves.

Work in collaboration with other learners: students can test out ideas and are encouraged to figure out solutions by themselves. Our classrooms are characterized by inquiry, discovery, creativity, problem solving and self direction which enable each student’s individuality and potential to be maximized in a multi-faceted, high quality learning environment. Finally, we acknowledge that education is a partnership between students, parents and dedicated staff.
