Prior to the opening of Season Arts, Taiwan’s educational system emphasized heavily on the importance of interdisciplinary teaching in high schools. The founder of Season Arts kindergarten thought this system was necessary not only just for the older students but also for those of kindergarten age. The results and success we gained from the commitment to interdisciplinary teaching meant that the Season Arts teaching philosophy has become truly revolutionary in Taiwan. Season Arts is unique in its desire to provide an enhanced interdisciplinary program

The method of implementing integrated, interdisciplinary instruction at Season Arts is the thematic approach, characteristics of this include:

.  A broad subject such as transportation or water.
.  A duration of about 3 months to allow in depth investigations on the subject.
.  The theme is studied and integrated in more than one content area.

The interdisciplinary project approach means that the theme class content is covered in the regular lessons as well as in other lessons such as PE, music and art. This offers students the opportunity to gain new perspectives of the subject and allow them to take ownership of their learning. For example, an idea gained in music class may spawn an inspiration for a craft project. This way, the learning becomes more student-centered and as a result students strengthen their belief on the subject in their own ideas and gain confidence in their abilities.
