Prior to the opening of Season Arts, Government education bodies emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary teaching in high schools. The founder of Season Arts kindergarten felt this advice was necessary not just for older students but also for those of kindergarten age. A strong commitment to interdisciplinary teaching and success in this area meant that the Season Arts teaching philosophy has become truly revolutionary in Taiwan . Season Arts is unique in its desire to provide an enhanced interdisciplinary program

The method of implementing integrated, interdisciplinary instruction at Season Arts is the thematic unit , characteristics of this include:

•  A broad subject such as transportation or water.
•  A duration of about 3 months to allow deep investigation
•  Themes studied in more than one content area.

The interdisciplinary project approach means that the theme class content isn't just restricted to that particular lesson but covered in other areas such as PE, music and art. This offers students new perspectives of the same topic and gives them more opportunity to take ownership of their learning. For example an idea gained in music class may spawn the inspiration for a craft project. In this way the learning is more student-centered and as a result students strengthen belief in their own ideas and gain confidence in their abilities.
